There are two amazing artists that were the first who created abstract art. The two artists are Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko. Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko are unique from each other but they both do abstract art. Both artists show feelings in their painting. Abstract art doesn’t show people or objects. And this is what these artists are doing.

Jackson Pollock does action painting. He was the first ever action painter. He poured, dripped, drizzled and splashed paint all around his canvas.  Jackson is unique from other painters because he put his canvas on the floor, so he can go to the edges and be able to paint all around the canvas. Jackson puts a lot of action and happiness in his paintings. Jackson uses bright colors to make it happier. He wants his paintings to be unique from others.

Mark Rothko does color field painting. Mark has geometric shapes like squares and rectangles in his color field painting. Mark shows deep feelings. He is the complete opposite from Jackson. His colors are dark, bold colors. Mark Rothko wants viewers to stand so close to the painting and feel his emotions. Mark’s paintings don’t show people or objects. Though the edges were a bit blurred.

In conclusion, these are the two amazing artists that first created abstract art Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko. Even though Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko’s techniques can be copied, no one can duplicate the artist’s secret motives, moves or emotions. There is never just one focus.
